As per usual, we enjoy getting to know each other! This is what we discovered when we temporarily took Mateusz away from project work for 5 minutes

Innerworks is coming soon...

This blog was originally published on our previous Cogworks blog page. The Cogworks Blog is in the process of evolving into Innerworks, our new community-driven tech blog. With Innerworks, we aim to provide a space for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and connection within the wider tech community. Watch this space for Innerworks updates, but don't worry - you'll still be able to access content from the original Cogworks Blog if you want.

We have a new QA team member at Cogworks!

Marcin recently joined as Quality Assurance Engineer.

He brings a bunch of knowledge and experience to our team, having worked in the software development field for over 2.5 years in Dev, PM and QA backgrounds!

Here's what we found out...

Q1. What kind of stuff will you be helping to do at Cogworks?

As far as my technical background is concerned, I will fully adapt to the current testing processes at Cogworks. However, with the development of this QA department, I will want to give as much as possible and transfer my knowledge of automation tests and accessibility.

Q2: What tools and technology do you like to work with?

- Playwright, Cypress and Postman!
- Javascript/Typescript/SQL
- Jenkins/Azure

Q3. Top three things you love about being a QA?

-  Destroying things (and they still pay you for it… šŸŽ‰)
-  I have an impact on the development of the product, from practically the very beginning to the end!
- Testing satisfies me; even though there are already established testing paths, I like to invent unconventional testing methods that would be hard to come up with! šŸ™‚

Q4. What do you like doing when you're not working?

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, of course, is one of the best sports!

You get fewer injuries than other martial arts (though it has happened to me a few times to have some grudges). I have a blue belt and am pleased with how  I'm gradually improving in this sport.

It may not surprise anyone, but I love computer games! The best has got to be Gothic 1 and 2 (with add-ons). The second? Got to be Heroes of Might and Magic III (which I know are quite old games, 20 years old to be exact) but are still immortal! šŸ˜€

It was great to steal Mateusz from project work for 5 minutes and learn a thing or two! We're sure that Mateusz’s expertise will help us create awesome stuff!
